Delicious Palada Payasam/Pradhaman Recipe [Step by Step]

“Palada Pradhaman” is an authentic Kerala delicacy sweet recipe. This is one of the famous desserts they will make it on their occasional festivals like Onam and other family functions. Palada Payasam mix is available in all the departmental stores with the price of Rs.65 (200g) and it tastes wonderful.

We can prepare many different varieties with this rice flakes. However, this is a Kerala’s famous food recipe they used to prepare it with simple ingredients like Palada/Cooked rice flakes, Sugar/Jaggery, Ghee and Cashews.

This is also commonly called as Pal Ada Payasam/Pal Ada Pradahaman based on their individuals. Come!! Let’s see the palada payasam recipe in a step by step process and with simple tips behind this.

We can serve it on occasional days like Onam and at the time we love to have tempting desserts like payasam. This is the special day for me to share with you the secret of ada pradhaman recipe with you all. Let’s get started!

Tips:

  • Fry the Palada in medium flame to avoid overburning.
  • Cook these Palada/Rice Flakes in milk until it expands well. This will give a perfect texture to our Palada payasam.

Total Time: 25 minutes

Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 15 – 20 mins

Serves: 4 Bowls

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Palada
  • 1 ½ cup Milk
  • ½ cup Sugar/Jaggery
  • Ghee
  • 10 Cashew
  • 10 Dry Grapes

Procedure:

  1. Place a pan on the stove and heat well.
  2. Once the pan gets heated, add 3 tbsp of ghee and add the palada to fry.
  3. Fry until the palada turns into golden brown. Keep in mind, that not to fry more till its burning stage. Fry and keep it aside.
  4. Now place a thick base pan and add one and a half cup of milk and make it to boil for few minutes.
  5. Once the milk boils well, add the fried palada into the pan.
  6. Mix it and leave for 15 minutes. We should wait until the palada expands its level by boiling in the milk.
  7. At the time it expands its texture, add the roasted nuts into it.
  8. Now our delicious “Palada Pradhaman/Palada Payasam” is now ready to serve.
